2nd Childhood Productions, LLC is the dream child of three people who strive to saturate television, film and the Internet with original, creative and unique content. We aim to enlighten, entertain, inspire and inform. We are taking what we envision and adding elements of what we’ve observed to deliver to the viewing audience a collection of relatable, controversial and provocative concepts, ideas, and theories. We are a trio of dreamers building on a dream…in 3D. We are made up of a twenty-plus year music executive, a Rutgers University MBA/Finance & Marketing Grad, and a gifted creative and imaginative screenwriter.

Bios

Sandra Smith

Sandra Smith hails from the beautiful Bay Island of Roatan in Honduras, Central America. The island native came to America when she was only 13 years old. She left home carrying a simple mandate from her grandfather Jesus, “Get an education and make something of your life, remember that education is the key to everything.” This simple message became the driving force behind her professional and educational accomplishments. Armed with degrees in both Criminal Justice & Psychology, Smith entered the music industry straight out of college, and thus began her remarkable twenty-plus-year career in the music industry. The ambitious and determined mother-of-one began her professional career as a Component Coordinator at Polygram Records. Due to her own innate, persistent drive to excel – enhanced by her beloved grandfather’s subtle ‘instruction’ – she ultimately called Capitol Records her home and Sr. VP/Urban Promotion her title.

During her impressive run on the records side of entertainment, the ever-planning, always-thinking Smith demonstrated her calculating intellect, influential social skills and strategic planning at such top players as Mercury Records, EastWest Records, Motown Records, and Priority Records. She spearheaded campaigns and successfully led her various teams to victory in the department of Urban Promotions. Feeling fulfilled and desiring a change, she transitioned to the radio side and currently utilizes her professional skill set in that arena.

Smith describes herself as having a ‘Gypsy soul’ – one who confidently adventures oblivious to limitations, inabilities, and rejection. After a conversation with O’Quinn, she realized what her next step in her professional journey would be – to join the 2nd Childhood Productions, LLC team. Transitioning from records to radio to television & film, Smith is able to honor her ‘Gypsy soul’ as she stakes her claim to her portion of success in the realm of entertainment. With sheer excitement and infectious enthusiasm, Smith embarks on this new professional journey endeavoring to become one of entertainment’s most successful female moguls.

Chad Newsome

Chad Newsome is one of the independent film industry’s newest, up-and-coming producers to watch for. He has a deep passion for film and art; a personal connection to and an understanding of human emotion; and a keen sense of visual perfection. Additionally, he has the remarkable ability to discover creative talent within individuals as well as unveil the hidden prosperity within potential film projects. It was out of this ability that he united and formed a production company with Miss O’Quinn.

Newsome adds valuable insight, leadership, creativity, and business skills to every project that he works on. He believes that the viewing audience desires to view visual content of substance. And as many productions seem to be cut from the same cookie-cutter mold, Newsome desires to toss out that mold and allow pure passion, creativity, and raw human emotion to be the driving influences behind his productions.

In an effort to expand on his intellectual and creative aspirations, Newsome co-founded 2nd Childhood Productions, LLC in 2013. Additionally, he co-wrote his first script, “Wheels,” an urban tale about a the psychological and emotional effects a strong male role model can have on young man growing up in the inner city. Newsome personally feels that he has a tremendous responsibility to create films with meaning and substance – those that carry the essence of mental stimulation, poignant themes and universal inspiration. Thus, “Wheels” was created and co-written by the visionary. Creatively, his mind never sleeps; he as an impressive inventory of film ideas, television concepts and reality show themes that he aims to produce.

Regarding the left side of the brain, Newsome’s educational experience earned him a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Sports Management and later an MBA in Marketing and Finance from the highly-acclaimed Rutgers University.

Tanya O’Quinn

Tanya O’Quinn discovered her love for the art of creative writing when she was in the fifth grade. She wrote several television scripts which she, her cousin and neighborhood friend would act out. In high school, her English teacher deemed her ‘The Class Laureate’. Though her passion was in creative writing, she never intentionally pursued the educational curriculum or professional positions that would complement her infatuation.

When O’Quinn happened upon a job in the music industry, her creativity was piqued, and her passion for expression intensified. She not only discovered her gift of writing, her superiors influenced to share it on a grander scale. Consequently, a literary star was born! Falling into the profession of ‘writer’, the free-spirited Pisces created an opportunity to immerse her zany sense of humor and unique perspective into a written and published artistic review of music releases. Her unusual writing style was a breath of fresh air that came to be admired and appreciated by both the recording artists and the music executives. It was during her tenure at the music trade publication that she met Ms. Smith, who would become the co-founder of 2nd Childhood Productions, LLC sixteen years later.

After exiting the music industry, O’Quinn found herself in a totally different field. And though her position did not require that she be creative or a writer, the passionate expressionist found a way to manifest her desired goal. After impressing the head honchos at the company, she began penning articles for the company’s website.

In the eleven years that she’s been out of the music business, O’Quinn has been honing her writing ability while working a ‘9-5’. She has written over thirteen scripts (four of which she co-wrote), penned two erotica e-books, and published five inspirational e-books. Additionally, she co-created several concepts for television shows and as web series with business partner Newsome.
